Mohammad-Javad Larijani, Secretary General of the Iranian High Council for Human Rights, spoke at the UN "Human Rights" Council session on March 1, 2016. Notwithstanding that Iran is a state-sponsor of terror, Larijani called for a UN plan to confront "violent extremism" that would focus on one country - Israel. In his words:
"We once again call for a United Front against Violent Extremism and propose to draft a Comprehensive Plan of Action on how to proceed... This Plan of action should also address the continued occupation of Palestine and the Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people over so many decades, which have fueled extremism and other crises in our region and beyond."
