Fouad Siniora

Belligerent Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora continues to encourage terrorism as he tells the UN Security Council that Israel "occupies" the Shaba'a Farms. Says Siniora, "For Lebanon, liberation of that still occupied Lebanese land was a priority." He fails to mention the UN report which stated "The continually asserted position of the Government of Lebanon that the Blue Line is not valid in the Shab'a farms area is not compatible with Security Council resolutions. The Council has recognized the Blue Line as valid for purposes of confirming Israel's withdrawal pursuant to resolution 425 (1978). The Government of Lebanon should heed the Council's repeated calls for the parties to respect the Blue Line in its entirety." Nor does he mention the statement of the Security Council which verified that "...as of 16 June 2000 Israel has withdrawn its forces from Lebanon in accordance with resolution 425 (1978)." And he doesn't mention the Security Council resolution which repeated the same. Now if only his priority was really upholding international law, by preventing Hizbollah terrorists from using Lebanese territory to launch attacks on a neighboring state.

This abuse of the Security Council to continue the UN's demonization of Israel took place on the very same day that 9 Israelis lost their lives and over 60 more were wounded by a Palestinian suicide bomber. The apologists for suicide bombers were at the forefront of calling for the Security Council meeting.
