WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin with Bedouin Women in Palestine

The Palestinians' UN propaganda team has issued one more hysterical rant in an effort to grab attention. The headline of a new UN press release reads: "UN relief officials sound alarm over deepening food insecurity in Palestine." Why the so-called alarm? "Contributing factors include high unemployment rates, stagnant economic growth, the financial problems of the Palestinian Authority, the continued Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the six-year blockade of Gaza." p.s. Factors like dedicating energy and resources to embracing terrorism and fomenting hatred of one's Jewish neighbor didn't make the cut. pp.s. Is anybody else in the world suffering from "food insecurity" meriting non-stop UN "alarms"? (No.)

Syrian mother carries injured son

UN officials are becoming increasingly hysterical at the shift of UN focus from Israel to Syria. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on Tuesday, after noting the "fighting in Syria:" "we must not lose sight of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the resolution of which was no less urgent." The message to Syrian civilians being butchered daily? Israeli apartment building is as important as you dying. Then came the usual UN threats about time running out for Israel, or else. From the diplomat who cried wolf: "The coming weeks will be critical," and "I cannot stress enough the risk of missing the current window of opportunity."

Bassam Al-Salhi

UN Palestinian Rights Committee has been living it up in Beijing, where they are busy spreading hatred of Israel literally around the globe. A few meeting tidbits: Bassam Al-Salhi, Secretary-General, Palestinian People's Party, and Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council for Jerusalem: "Israel was adopting a policy of ethnic cleansing" And then he demanded: " a 'real intervention' by the international community was needed." Ahmad Tibi, Member of Knesset, Arab Movement for Change, Jerusalem: "The Prime Minister [of Israel]...was the one imposing preconditions [for negotiations] by insisting that the PLO accept Israel as a Jewish State. ...President Abbas was saying "no" to it...Defining Israel as a Jewish State would strengthen by law the "inferior" status of the Arab minority, he warned." The UN recipe for peace: Delegitimize Israel and a two-state solution with a Jewish state will fade away.

Turkey police manhandle protestor

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, searches for ways to pull her punches on criticism of Turkey, after downplaying Erdogan's outrages for as long as possible. UN press release says Pillay "offer[ed] the support of her Office in the efforts to further develop human rights in Turkey." No mention of thwarting Islamization in her development plans.

Palestinian distributes UNRWA food supplies

The Obama administration announced a new contribution of $123 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) - for a total U.S. 2013 contribution to UNRWA of $244.5 million. The cash-with-no-strings-attached comes despite the Palestinian Authority having systematically ignored President Obama's strongest requests. The PA was asked not to go unilaterally to the UN General Assembly for a change of status to that of a "non-member state," and to end its almost three-year long boycott of direct negotiations with Israel. Why respond positively when the funds just keep on flowing?

UNRWA visits Palestine refugees from Syria

Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Filippo Grandi, has analogized the butchery in Syria to the Israeli treatment of Palestinians: "The loss of camps in Syria and the uncertainty that it has wrought, are suffered by all, just as the bombardments in Gaza." UNRWA is desperate to put Palestinians back on top of the world's most deserving victims list, as the UN's massive Palestinian advocacy machinery struggles with the Syrian distraction. In his latest twisted remarks, UNRWA's chief finds a way of blaming Israel for the consequences of events in Syria for Palestinians. "The distress of Palestine refugees in Syria and displaced from Syria has given the lack of progress in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process an added, and very stark dimension."

Hussein Oruc

The Red Cross - known for denying usage of the Jewish Magen David Adom while embracing the Islamic Red Crescent - is sporting a new video promoting the Turkish thugs responsible for the 2010 Gaza-bound flotilla. The ICRC 150th anniversary video features Hussein Oruc, deputy chairman of the IHH NGO - a man who said at the time (among other things): "Israelis...want to control the West." An ICRC spokesperson told the Times of Israel he couldn't see any problem; it was just "part of an initiative to highlight different perspectives on current humanitarian challenges." Antisemitism isn't a humanitarian challenge at the UN.
