U.S. REPRESENTATIVES SUPPORT BUSH ADMINISTRATION CALL TO END TO U.N. BODIES DEDICATED TO PALESTINIANS… Several members of the House of Representatives have urged Quartet members to support the abolition of United Nations bodies that exist on behalf of the Palestinians. In a letter sent to the United Nations representatives of France, Germany, and Russia this week, three Democrats and a Republican said that the U.N.’s Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, the Division of Palestinian Rights, and the Special Committee to investigate Israeli human rights practices affecting the Palestinian people “are nothing more than U.N.-funded propaganda organs dedicated exclusively to the demonization and delegitimization of the State of Israel.” The Bush administration has called for ending the first two, the House members added the third.
