Rice says US will not go to UN anti-racism meeting if it repeats anti-Semitism The Associated Press February 13, 2008 The International Herald Tribune Original Source: http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/02/13/america/NA-GEN-US-Racism-Conference.php Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says the United States will not attend a U.N. anti-racism meeting if it is similar to a previous conference Washington called anti-Semitic. Rice says the United States has not made a final decision about next year's follow-up to the 2001 U.N. World Conference on Racism. But she says there is no U.S. interest in participating if it repeats the 2001 conference. The U.S. says that meeting was anti-Semitic and anti-Israel. The United States and Israel walked out. The decision about next year's conference will be up to the next U.S. administration because the conference is to take place after President George W. Bush leaves office in January 2009.
