Livni calls on U.S. to avoid 'Durban 2' meet By Barak Ravid February 17, 2009 Haaretz Original Source: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1064879.html Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni yesterday called on the United States not to participate in the Durban 2 conference, to be held in Geneva in April. Speaking at a meeting in Jerusalem of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Livni said the international community must not provide a stage for anti-Semitism and for the isolation of Israel under the banner of the fight against racism. Israel expects the free world not to participate in 'Durban 2,' she said. Meanwhile, Jerusalem continued its diplomatic efforts to persuade the U.S. not to take part in the conference. (Barak Ravid)
