		Note verbale dated 14 February 2007 from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations addressed to the Chairman of the Committee


	The Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and has the honour to transmit information to the Committee on the additional steps taken by the Government of the Republic of the Philippines to ensure the implementation of measures stipulated in Security Council resolution 1718 (2006) (see annex).

		Philippine National Police (PNP) implementation of Security Council resolution 1718 (2006)


	On 25 January 2007, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has issued Letter of Instruction (LOI) 64/06 North Korean Arms Bug (Arms Embargo Against DPRK), which directs concerned PNP units to implement measures to prevent the direct or indirect import or export of any defense/military items and commercial firearms, ammunition and explosives, including but not limited to battle tanks, armoured combat vehicles, large calibre artillery systems, combat aircrafts, attach helicopters, warships, missile systems, by any person or entity from or to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
	LOI 64/06 likewise directs the PNP to prevent any transfer to or from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea of technical training, advice, services or assistance related to the provision, manufacture, maintenance or use of said defense/military items and commercial firearms, ammunition and explosives.
