Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Note verbale dated 15 January 2007 from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations addressed to the Chairman of the Committee The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) and, referring to the latter’s note verbale dated 1 November 2006 and to the former’s note verbale dated 13 November 2006, has the honour to submit a follow-up report on the status of implementation by the Republic of Korea of paragraph 8 (a) (iii) of the aforementioned resolution (see annex). Annex to the note verbale dated 15 January 2007 from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations addressed to the Chairman of the Committee Follow-up report of the Republic of Korea on the implementation of resolution 1718 (2006) As a measure to fulfil the obligation to prevent the export of luxury goods to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, pursuant to operative paragraph 8 (a) (iii) of resolution 1718 (2006), the Government of the Republic of Korea is in the process of drafting a list of items it considers to be luxury goods, including luxury motor vehicles, high-end electronic devices, luxury food and alcoholic beverages, luxury recreational items, luxury furniture, precious stones, luxury accessories and designer apparel.
