Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Note verbale dated 10 November 2006 from the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations addressed to the Chairman of the Committee The Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006), and has the honour to refer to the note verbale dated 1 November 2006, regarding the implementation of resolution 1718 (2006). In fulfilment of paragraph 11 of resolution 1718 (2006), the Permanent Mission of Brazil would like to inform the Committee that, by means of Presidential Decree 5.957 of 7 November 2006, the provisions of resolution 1718 (2006) were incorporated into Brazilian law and made mandatory for all Brazilian authorities. A copy of the decree is enclosed in this note (see annex). The Permanent Mission of Brazil would like to further inform that the General Coordination of Sensitive Goods of the Ministry of Science and Technology verified that no commercial exchanges took place between Brazil and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in recent years regarding the goods referred in paragraph 8 of resolution 1718 (2006) and no Brazilian suppliers were solicited by buyers from DPRK.
