Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Note verbale dated 13 November 2006 from the Permanent Mission of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the United Nations addressed to the Chairman of the Committee The Permanent Mission of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and has the honour to refer to Security Council resolution 1718 (2006), adopted by the Council on 14 October 2006, and wishes to communicate the following. Liechtenstein has fully implemented the embargo on heavy weapons, luxury goods and materials, equipment, goods and technology listed in documents S/2006/853, S/2006/814 and S/2006/815, as well as the travel restrictions, asset freeze and other measures provided by Security Council resolution 1718 (2006). The relevant measures were incorporated into national law through the Government Ordinance on Measures concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (cf. Liechtenstein Legal Gazette 2006, No. 208), and violations are punishable in accordance with criminal law. The above-mentioned Ordinance is regularly updated following relevant decisions by the sanctions Committee.
