Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) concerning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Note verbale dated 14 November 2006 from the Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations addressed to the Chairman of the Committee The Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006), and has the honour to inform about the steps taken by the Government of the Slovak Republic to ensure the implementation of relevant provisions of the above-mentioned resolution. The Slovak Republic, as a member State of the European Union (EU), has been taking part in the preparation of the European Union’s legal instruments implementing the provisions of resolution 1718 (2006) in full. Information in that regard was conveyed to the Security Council by the presidency of the European Union on 13 November 2006. After the adoption of the relevant European Union Council regulation, all legal instruments will be automatically applied to Slovak national legislation. On the national level, the Slovak Republic, as a member of nearly all multilateral export control regimes, already has in place all the necessary tools to be able to implement the provisions of the above-mentioned resolution on the export of sensitive goods and technology.
