Security Council Committee established pursuant
to resolution 1718 (2006) concerning the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea



		Note verbale dated 14 November 2006 from the Permanent Mission of Slovenia to the United Nations addressed to the Chairman of the Committee


	The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Chairman of the Committee and has the honour to submit the following information.
	The Republic of Slovenia fully respects Security Council resolution 1718 (2006), dated 14 October 2006, concerning international measures against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
	The Republic of Slovenia would like to refer to the letter of the Permanent Representative of Finland to the United Nations dated 13 November 2006, addressed to the Chairman of the Committee, containing information about current discussions among European Union member States on the implementation of resolution 1718 (2006). As a member of the European Union, Slovenia is participating in the decision-making process aimed at the adoption of related Community instruments, notably the future Council of the European Union Common Position and Council Regulation on the implementation of the measures against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea contained in resolution 1718 (2006).
	The competent authorities of the Republic of Slovenia are already acting in keeping with the spirit of resolution 1718 (2006), implementing certain measures, i.e. the implementation of the arms embargo, following the European Union Code of Conduct on conventional Arms Exports.
	The Republic of Slovenia is ready to submit additional information on its activities related to the implementation of resolution 1718 (2006), if requested by the Committee.
