		Request for observer status for the Islamic Development Bank Group


		Letter dated 15 December 2006 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General


	I have the honour to request observer status for the Islamic Development Bank Group in the General Assembly. Submitted herewith are a letter from Ahmad Mohamed Ali, President of the Islamic Development Bank Group, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, addressed to you (see annex I), an explanatory memorandum (annex II) in support of the request and a draft resolution (see annex III), in accordance with rule 20 of the rules of procedure.
	I have the honour to request further that the present letter and its annexes be circulated as a document of the General Assembly.
