Welcomes the report A/HRC/6/19 presented by the Human Rights Council Group of Experts on the Situation of Human Rights in Darfur; * Non-member States of the Human Rights Council. 2. Acknowledges the cooperation of the Government of Sudan and welcomes the open and constructive dialogue between the Government of Sudan and the Group of Experts; 3. Acknowledges the efforts made by the Government of Sudan to implement the recommendations identified by the Group of Experts, but expresses its concern that most some recommendations have not yet been fully implemented nor so as to lead to an improvement of the situation of Human Rights in Darfur, and that calls upon the Government of Sudan has declined to intensify its efforts to implement several these recommendations; 4. Expresses particular concern for the fact that the some perpetrators of past and ongoing serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in Darfur have not yet been held accountable for their crimes and urges the Government of Sudan to address urgently the this question of impunity, by thoroughly investigating all allegations of human rights and international humanitarian law violations, promptly bringing to justice the perpetrators of these violations. and cooperating with the International Criminal Court; 5. Urges the Government of Sudan to continue and to intensify its efforts to implement without delay the recommendations identified by the Group of Experts in accordance with the specified timeframes and indicators; 6. Invites relevant UN bodies and agencies, including the OHCHR, to continue providing support and technical assistance to Sudan for the implementation of these recommendations and calls upon donours to also continue urgently providing provide financial and technical assistance and required equipments in this regard; 7. Reiterates its call upon all parties to put an end to all acts of violence against civilians, with special focus on vulnerable groups, including women, children and internally displaced persons, as well as human rights defenders and humanitarian workers; 7 bis Further calls upon those parties who have not yet joined the peace process to do so without delay. 8. Decides to renew until 20 June 2008 the mandate of the Human Rights Council Group of Experts on the Situation of Human Rights in Darfur, presided by the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Sudan and composed by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for children and armed conflict, the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary on arbitrary executions, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on the human rights defenders, the Representative of the Secretary-General on human rights internally displaced persons, the Special Rapporteur on the question of torture and the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences, in order to: continue to ensure the effective follow-up and implementation of the short-term recommendations identified in its report A/HRC/5/6 and assess their impact in the situation of human rights in Darfur, through an open and constructive dialogue with the Government of Sudan; ensure the effective follow-up and implementation of the medium-term recommendations identified in its report A/HRC/5/6 and assess their impact in the situation of human rights in Darfur, through an open and constructive dialogue with the Government of Sudan; visit Darfur, at the invitation of the Government of Sudan, to assess the status of the implementation and impact of the recommendations; and report on the status of the implementation and impact of the recommendations to the HRC 8th session, in June 2008. ----- A/HRC/6/L.47 Page 2 A/HRC/6/L.47 page 3
