Movement i New Yark, and on behalf of ,the n Member States of the Movement, to' advise that the Bureau has decided in its meeting on 16 January 2007 to.request t h a t a general debate be scheduled in the.Generd ~ssembly, jointly. . under agenda item 47 entitled ?Integrateda d Coordinated hplernentation'of and Followup to fhe Outcome of the Major United Nations.Conferences and Summits i the Economic; . n Social and Related Fields," agenda item 112, entitled "Strengthening of t h e United Nations - . '~ystetn",agenda item 113,entitled "Follow-up to the Outcome of the M U l e n n i u m Summit'', and agenda item 149, entitled "UriiQd Nations Refom: .Measures'andproposals", in order t o discuss the progress achieved i the work of the Peacebuilding Commission. . n As ~ o U well aware, the . ~ b n - ~ l j . g nMovement attaches special attention t o the are ed Peacebuilding Commission, partia~larly regards enhancing its role i support of national as n ownership of post-conflict peacebuilding priority planning and efforts. Such a debate would undoubtedly enrich t h e general me'inbership's 'awareness of the progress made so far wifhin ,

'The MoveHent believes that such a debate would complement the qn,@oing plans gf the Security Council t o hold an open @'ebate'on January 31 2007 to follow up on the rndtidi~ensional aspeqts in the cases under -considerationvSi&in the Peacebuilding Commission, id line with the respective prerogatives of both organs, according to General Assembly resolution 60/x80. .
