Vote on Report of Fact Finding Mission on Gaza Conflict

LICHTENSTEIN REPRESENTATIVE:  Thank you Mr. President.  Mr. President, my delegation su
pports the main thrust of the resolution L11 just adopted.  In particular, we endorse the call for independent and credible investigations carried out in accordance with international standards by both parties.  
As we have state in our speech during the debate, we were disappointed in the manner in which the Human Rights Council had dealt with the report of the fact-finding mission.  Our abstention that we have cast with much regret is therefore due solely to the manner in which the text refers to the report of the Human Rights Council.  
We hope that this resolution will make a genuine contribution to ensuring accountability and to addressing violations of international humanitarian law documented in the Goldstone report.  We look forward to the future consideration of this important topic by this assembly.  I thank you Mr. President.
