Restoration of the rights of membership of Libya in the Human Rights Council
The General Assembly, Recalling its resolution 60/251 of 15 March 2006, Recalling also its resolution 65/265 of 1 March 2011, in which it decided to suspend the rights of membership of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya in the Human Rights Council, Recalling further its resolution 66/1 A of 16 September 2011, in which it accepted the credentials of representatives to the sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly, including the credentials of the Libyan delegation, Taking note of Human Rights Council resolution 18/9 of 29 September 2011, 1 Welcoming the commitments made by Libya to uphold its obligations under international human rights law, to promote and protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law, and to cooperate with the relevant international human rights mechanisms, as well as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the International Commission of Inquiry established by the Human Rights Council in its resolution S-15/1 of 25 February 2011, 2 Decides to restore the rights of membership of Libya in the Human Rights Council.
