United Nations A/66/L.5/Rev.1 Distr.: Limited 11 November 2011 Original: English General Assembly Sixty-sixth session Agenda item 118 The United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Honduras, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu and Yemen: revised draft resolution United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre The General Assembly, Recalling all its resolutions on measures to eliminate international terrorism and Security Council resolutions on threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts, Reaffirming its resolutions 60/288 of 8 September 2006, 62/272 of 5 September 2008, 64/235 of 24 December 2009 and 64/297 of 8 September 2010 concerning the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, Noting with appreciation the contribution agreement to launch the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre signed by the United Nations and Saudi Arabia on 19 September 2011, Welcomes the establishment of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism 1. Centre at United Nations Headquarters; 2. Also welcomes the decision of Saudi Arabia to fund for three years the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre established within the Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force, to be funded through voluntary contributions; Notes that the Centre will operate under the direction of the Secretary3. General and will contribute to promoting the implementation of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy through the Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force; Encourages all Member States to collaborate with the United Nations 4. Counter-Terrorism Centre in contributing to the implementation of its activities in support of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy; Decides to review the implementation of the present resolution at its 5. sixty-eighth session in the framework of the fourth biennial review of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. 11-57831 (E) 161111 *1157831*
