		Letter dated 21 May 2006 from the Permanent Representative of Tunisia to the United Nations addressed to the President of the General Assembly


	I have the honour, in my capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group, to inform you of the position of the Arab States calling for the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations, who will succeed Mr. Kofi Annan, to be chosen from a State Member of the United Nations from the region of Asia.
	I should be grateful if you would have the present letter circulated as a document of the sixty-first session of the General Assembly under item 101 of the preliminary list.
