A first massive forcible population transfer (ethnic cleansing) between 1947 (UN Partition Plan for Palestine) and 1949 (cease-fire agreements between Israel and Arab states), resulted in the Nakba (catastrophe) for the Palestinian people and in the creation of the Palestinian refugee question. Since then, oppression of Palestinian citizens and residents, and Israel's 40 years-old belligerent occupation of the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, have facilitated colonization of more Palestinian land and resulted in the displacement of more Palestinian people. Today, Israel's regime is an Apartheid-like regime over the entire historic Palestine. It denies exercise of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to freedom, self-determination and return of the refugees and internally displaced persons, and obstructs peace, security and development in the region. Based on a vision of freedom, justice and equality for all in historic Palestine, the Nakba-60 Campaign promotes accountability of Israel and third states to international law and UN resolutions through: Public awareness-raising about the circumstances of Palestinian Nakba and Israel's Apartheid regime; Support of Palestinian steadfastness and civil resistance in Palestine and in exile; A global campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel, until it ends occupation, colonization and apartheid and respects and promotes Palestinian refugees' right of return. Nakba-60 is a worldwide campaign of independent civil society organizations. It is coordinated by the International Coordinating Committee of NGOs on Palestine (ICNP) in cooperation with the: National Committee for the Commemoration of Nakba-60 in Palestine          Tel: +972-599-255584; mailto:uyac@uyac.org uyac@uyac.org The global Palestine Right-of-Return Coalition           info@rorcoalition.org; www.rorcoalition.org (Arabic only) BADIL Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights --------------------------------- This web-page serves to facilitate updates and coordination of the Nakba-60 Campaign – feedback and additional input are welcome.
