The Location of Jerusalem is so tactical that the city is based on 2500 feet above sea level. As it extends from north to south on the mountaintops of Palestinian heights, Jerusalem connects all the directions. It congregates the main roads penetrating the heights from South to north. Jerusalem Overview shows that the city is covered by Al Zibel valley from the west. Jerusalem is 22 kilometers away from the Dead Sea and 52 kms away from the Mediterranean Sea. Besides, the city is connected with the adjacent capitals by paved lands.  Until Palestine was occupied Jerusalem had been the capital of Palestine with a happy, prosperous, proud, highly advanced and cultured citizenry of various denominations and creeds: Muslims, Christians and Jews, living side by side in amity and matter of tolerance if not friendliness as any civilized city, more so immortal Jerusalem, the spiritual home and cradle of universal civilization.  As capital of Palestine under the British Mandate, it was the scene of great expansion and development, to meet the ever-growing needs of a growing population and a thriving capital. The infrastructure of Jerusalem as early as the third decade of this century was second to none, in the entire Middle East and much of the rest of the world. Telephones, sewage systems, impeccable running water, clean roads, schools, colleges sporting clubs, hotels, cultural centers, newspapers and all other human amenities were fully in place long before most of the world could even dream of matching them.  In addition to its intrinsic and majestic beauty, its serenity, free atmosphere, peace and quiet prevailed, and Jerusalem enjoyed an unprecedented economic boom, as a major bastion for the allied was effort. A stream of world dignitaries descended on it for multifarious reasons, including discussions with national leaders over its ultimate fate in the post-war era. Jerusalem was and will always be our taken from us country’s capital. As it is placed in the middle of Palestine and connects the entire Palestinian region, it will always be placed in the middle of our hearts, and connect all the Palestinians together, in hope of returning to their homeland.
