Land operations At 12.05 p.m., an Israeli Merkava tank attempted to enter Lebanese territory through Talat El-Rahib. Operations conducted by the Israeli navy Israeli enemy warships shelled a number of localities in the Naqoura area as well as the El-Hadja bridge, the southern suburb of Beirut and the Awali bridge. Beginning at 6 a.m. on 13 July 2006, Israeli warships prevented merchant vessels from leaving or approaching the coast of Lebanon south of the line situated opposite the Ibrahim river.
