November 22, 2013 Mr. Jeffrey Feltman, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs United Nations, New York SENT BY EMAIL Dear Mr. Feltman, It has come to my attention that you have been denying to members of the media that we have been banned from attending the meeting of the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People Monday morning November 25. As you know, our passes to attend this meeting were approved by UN security on November 15 but subsequently revoked at the behest of the UN Division for Palestinian Rights which is directly under your jurisdiction. Furthermore, as you know, UN security officer Lt. Jankowsky wrote to me on November 15 on two separate occasions indicating one hand of the UN had indeed been in touch with the other: Friday, November 15, 2013 10:47 PM "I am simply informing you that the request must be made through the organiser, and as a matter of convenience to you, your request has been forwarded to them." Friday, November 15, 2013 6:00 PM "The Division of Palestinian Rights will be distributing the passes...The NGO branch has forwarded your request to them." In addition, the UN knows full well what are the purposes of ECOSOC-accredited NGOs, including the Touro Institute. I suggest you ask the UN NGO branch if you and the Division are unfamiliar with the onerous process. Hence, your suggestion (a) of an (unadvertised) Nov. 19 deadline that somehow we missed and you were prepared to extend, and (b) that you were not already in receipt of everything that is necessary to revoke the UN secretariat's revocation of our previously approved passes, is completely misleading. If you are serious about the Charter's equality commitment to all "men and women and nations large and small," including to Zionist Jews who believe in the self-determination of the Jewish people embodied by the UN member state of Israel, we assume we will be receiving re-approval of the passes today for Monday morning's meeting.
