Annex to the identical letters dated 11 September 2006 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 7 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 8 September 2006 Air violations There were seven air violations reported by enemy Israeli reconnaissance aircraft and warplanes over various Lebanese areas, involving a total of six reconnaissance aircraft and two warplanes. Land violations At 0930 hours two enemy Israeli tanks advanced on the northern half of the occupied town of Ghajar and fired several shells directly at former resistance emplacements on the edge of town (on the northern side inside liberated Lebanese territory). An enemy bulldozer worked on raising earthen berms at the northern and north-eastern edges of the town. It should be noted that the air blockade ended as of 1800 hours on 7 September 2006, while the sea blockade continues. Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 8 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 9 September 2006 Air violations There were three air violations reported by reconnaissance aircraft over various Lebanese areas, involving a total of three reconnaissance aircraft. Land violations At 1600 hours, on the outskirts of the town of Marouahine near the Balat outpost, a patrol of the enemy Israeli forces proceeded to arrest Ali `Ubayd and led him into occupied Palestinian territory through the Marouahine gate. He was released at 2000 hours. At 1615 hours, enemy Israeli forces arrested the following people at the school for the disabled in the town of Aaita al-Chaab: Tahir Salim Tahini, Muhammad Husayn Surur, Kamil Mahmud Harisi, Hasan Fayez Daqduq (of Public Security) and Ali Ahmad Mar`i Qasim and led them to an unknown location. They were released on the morning of 9 September 2006. In the wake of the Israeli enemy’s use of cluster bombs against residential areas during its attacks on Lebanon many of these bombs have been reported to have exploded, resulting in injury to four persons during the period in question: At 0900 hours, on the outskirts of the town of Al-Bazouriye, while `Isa Wadi (a Palestinian) was working in an orchard, a cluster bomb exploded. He was slightly injured. At 1200 hours, in the town of Jouaiya, a cluster bomb exploded, resulting in injury to a young boy, Abbas Faqih, in his left hand (his condition is not serious). At 1715 hours, in the town of Aarab Salim, while Nasir Haydar and his 12-year-old son Husayn were burning dry brush behind their home, a cluster bomb exploded, resulting in slight injury to both. Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 9 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 10 September 2006 Air violations There was one air violation reported by a reconnaissance aircraft: Between 2020 hours and 2255 hours, an enemy Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew the Insariye and Aadaisse areas. Sea violations At 1315 hours, an Israeli military launch fired several rounds of medium-weapons fire in the open sea off Ras al-Naqoura. At 2114 hours, an Israeli military launch fired several rounds of medium-weapons fire at a fishing vessel in the open sea (inside Lebanese territorial waters) off Ras al-Naqoura. At 2259 hours, an Israeli military launch fired several rounds of medium-weapons fire at a fishing vessel in the open sea (inside Lebanese territorial waters) off Ras al-Naqoura. In the wake of the Israeli enemy’s use of cluster bombs against residential areas during its attacks on Lebanon many of these bombs have been reported to have exploded, resulting in injury to two persons during the period in question: At 0810 hours, in Yohmor al-Nabatiye, while Husayn `Ali Ahmad was renovating his house, a cluster bomb left behind by the Israeli aggression exploded, causing him multiple injuries. At 1130 hours, in Aazze near Tyre, while Salih Karshat was working in an orchard, a cluster bomb left behind by the Israeli aggression exploded, causing him multiple injuries. Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 10 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 11 September 2006 Air violations There were three air violations reported by enemy Israeli warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft over various Lebanese areas, involving a total of two reconnaissance aircraft and four warplanes: At 0858 hours a reconnaissance aircraft violated Lebanese airspace over the sea off Tyre in an easterly direction and circled overland over the regions of Al-Jiye, Al-Saadiyat and Sidon and then over regions of the South. It left Lebanese airspace at 1115 hours over Al-Naqoura. At 1100 hours, an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft violated Lebanese airspace over the sea off Tyre in an easterly direction and circled over the southern regions, leaving Lebanese airspace at 1330 hours over Aalma al-Chaab. At 2000 hours, four enemy Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace over Marjaayoun in a northerly direction and circled over regions of the sea off Tyre in an easterly direction and circled over regions of the South, Al-Chouf and Chekka, leaving Lebanese airspace on the same date at 2030 hours over the sea off Al-Naqoura. Land violations At 1520 hours, an enemy Israeli bulldozer and minesweeper in the area of Ghajar (the northern side of the Lebanese part) worked on constructing an outpost of its own in a spot where Hezbollah had been positioned previously.
