Annex to the identical letters dated 18 September 2006 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 13 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 14 September 2006 Air violations There were five air violations by enemy Israeli warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft reported over various Lebanese areas, involving a total of three reconnaissance aircraft and six warplanes. Land violations Beginning on the morning of 13 September 2006, enemy Israeli forces worked on reconstruction of the border fence in the Qatmun area (south of Rmaich) inside liberated Lebanese territory. They also continued to perform maintenance on the fence between the town of Kfar Kila and Aadaisse and levelled the ground in front of the border fence in Wadi Hounine (east of Markaba) inside Lebanese territory. Between 2005 hours and 2045 hours, enemy Israeli forces fired three flares from their positions inside occupied Palestinian territory over the southern border between the towns of Aalma al-Chaab and Dhaira. Sea violations At 2305 hours, an Israeli military launch fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in the open sea off Ras al-Naqoura in the direction of a fishing vessel near the string of buoys dividing Lebanese and Palestinian territorial waters. In the wake of the Israeli enemy’s use of cluster bombs against residential areas during its attacks on Lebanon many of these bombs have exploded, resulting in injury to one person during the period in question: At 1800 hours, on the outskirts of the town of Tair Debba, a cluster bomb exploded, resulting in injuries to Shadi `Awn in his feet and neck (his condition is serious). Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 14 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 15 September 2006 Air violations There were four air violations by enemy Israeli warplanes and reconnaissance aircraft reported over various Lebanese areas, involving a total of two reconnaissance aircraft and 12 warplanes. In the wake of the Israeli enemy’s use of cluster bombs against residential areas during its attacks on Lebanon many of these bombs have exploded, resulting in injury to two persons during the period in question: At 1150 hours, in Qaaqaiet al-Jisr, a cluster bomb exploded, resulting in multiple injuries to `Ali and Yusuf Murad (their condition is not serious). Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 15 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 16 September 2006 Air violations There were three air violations by enemy Israeli reconnaissance aircraft and helicopters reported over various Lebanese areas: At 1030 hours, two Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace over Al-Naqoura in a north-easterly direction as far as Al-Arz. They then moved south and circled between Al-Naqoura, the Bekaa, Al-Arz, Beirut, and back to Al-Naqoura. They left Lebanese airspace at 1148 hours over the sea off Al-Naqoura. Between 0925 hours and 1300 hours, Israeli warplanes overflew the areas of Tyre, Al-Zahrani, Jezzine and Bent Jbail at various altitudes. At 2233 hours, an enemy Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew the sea off Al-Zahrani in a north-easterly direction as far as the Iqlim Al-Kharoub area and the Bekaa. It circled between Zahle and Rayak and left Lebanese airspace at 0345 hours on 16 September 2006 over the sea of Al-Naqoura. Land violations At 1630 hours, on the outskirts of the town of Yaroun, while Sulayman Salih was inspecting his sand quarry, enemy Israeli forces fired several bursts of medium-machine-gun fire in his direction from their W-55 outpost inside occupied Palestinian territory opposite the town, without hitting him. Sea violations At 1940 hours, an Israeli military launch fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in the open sea off Ras al-Naqoura. In the wake of the Israeli enemy’s use of cluster bombs against residential areas during its attacks on Lebanon many of these bombs have exploded, resulting in injury to two persons during the period in question: At 1300 hours, in the town of Srifa, a cluster bomb exploded, resulting in multiple injuries to Adham Najdi (19 years old). At 1200 hours, in the Barrad neighbourhood of Al-Nabatiye, a cluster bomb left behind by the recent Israeli aggression exploded, resulting in multiple minor injuries to Ahmad Sabbah. Subject: Israeli violations and acts of aggression against Lebanon from 0800 hours on 16 September 2006 to 0800 hours on 17 September 2006 Air violations There were three air violations by enemy Israeli warplanes reported over various Lebanese areas: At 1400 hours, two enemy Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace over the occupied Shab`a farmlands. They overflew the Hasbaiya area and left Lebanese airspace at 1430 hours. On 17 September 2006 at 0529 hours, two enemy Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace over the occupied Shab`a farmlands. They circled over areas of the South and Iqlim al-Kharoub and left Lebanese airspace at 0639 hours. On 17 September 2006 at 0538 hours, two enemy Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace over the occupied Shab`a farmlands. They circled over areas of the South and Iqlim al-Kharoub and left Lebanese airspace at 0611 hours. Land violations At 1630 hours, the enemy Israeli forces proceeded to advance in the direction of Jabal Balat (east of Marouahine) and led Fadi Sulayman, Hasan Samhun, and Palestinians Bilal `Isa and Mahmud Abu Hadawi (employees of the MTC Company) with their car to the Tabrikha gate opposite the Israeli enemy’s Zarit outpost. At 1730 hours, an international Observer Group patrol arrived at the spot and they and their car were released at 1815 hours.
