I have the honour to refer to my letter of 13 January 2006 (S/2006/23), informing the Security Council that I have reappointed three members of the Panel of Experts established pursuant to resolution 1591 (2005) concerning the Sudan for a period ending on 29 March 2006, as requested by the Council in its resolution 1651 (2005). In this connection, I should like to inform you that a fourth expert has been identified, in consultation with the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1591 (2005) concerning the Sudan, to replace one panelist who was unable to continue serving on the Panel of Experts under its extended mandate. Accordingly, I have appointed the following expert to serve on the Panel of Experts for a period ending on 29 March 2006: Bernard Saunders (Canada) I should be grateful if you would bring this information to the attention of the members of the Security Council.
