Bolton, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, on Iran, at the Security Council stakeout, August 29, 2006 Reporter:  Can I ask you quickly about Iran? Ambassador Bolton:  Yeah. Iran. Reporter:  President Ahmadinejad's comments today don’t make you very hopeful of Iran's response by Thursday. Ambassador Bolton:  I expect we have Iran's response. So I'll - Reporter: One question for you.  France is now proposing some sort of dialogue with the Iranians, even though they have refused to freeze - is it something the U.S. supports? Ambassador Bolton: Well, as I understand, what - Foreign Minister Douste-Blazy said it was after the Iranians suspend their uranium enrichment activities, which is the same condition that we have all shared.  So I didn't see anything new in that as I understood the comment.
